Pets and Intentional Damage
July 17th 2019
A recent decision by the High Court makes it clear tenants do have responsibility for repeated damage by pets, even if landlords allow pets in the property. This is a huge win for landlords, for the courts to state tenants do have responsibility for their own actions or the actions of pets under their control. This will also make it easier for good pet-owning tenants to be accepted into rentals, and give some peace of mind to owners who may have been reluctant otherwise.
